Christmas Eve!!!!

Yeah it is Christmas Eve! And the highlight daddy didn't have to go to work so he can build a snowman with Kate. He went down this morning and picked up Robbie and Jake and brought them back and is pulling them around on the four wheeler.

Kate and I decorated a gingerbread. Well I put the frosting on and Kate was very particular about which and where the candies could go.

Meg loved seeing pictures of Santa, but as soon as he came into the party she wasn't so happy. I know it is sad but I love these pictures.

AJ bought new long john and this is how he hung out at my moms house...GROSS!!!

Since I was a little girl we have gone to the nutcracker with my mom and her family. Grandma and Grandpa would buy the last two rows of the capital and take all of the grandkids and parents that wanted to go. Well it has since continued in our family and is one of my my most favorite traditions of Christmas. Well last night was Kate's first time to go to the Nutcracker. She was so excited Kate was so fun to go with. She just sat on the edge of her seat loving everything. Although she informed me in the real one (Barbie Nutcracker) that there isn't a Sugar Plum Prince and I had to let her know this is the real one..then she said ok the fake one doesn't have one.

Update....

I haven't giving an update lately so here I go....
House...we are officially homeless. We signed the papers on Monday and everything is official. Rod and I still talk about how blessed we were to sell our house and in 10 days. In this market that is crazy. We are at my moms house in AF and the girls are loving it. Kate said she wants to live here forever and not find a new house. I think the fact that Grandma is having the 12 days of Christmas done and every night she has been brought some type of Christmas treat. She is thinking it is so great. We are still looking at a house in our old neighborhood and it should be going for sale on Jan. 2.
Me and Baby...We are doing fine. We had an ultrasound about 3 weeks ago and the baby was good. I have been lifted to moderate movement, but still no lifting, pushing or pulling. I have been staying home with the girls during the days and then during lunch and nap time I go up to Rod's parents house and they help me get Kate to school and put Meggie in her bed. I have a Dr.'s apt tomorrow and hopefully we can find out a little more information about what I need to be doing.
Girls...are so excited for Christmas...well Kate is. she keeps saying I can't wait for Christmas. She has some how found out how to figure what she is getting from everyone...she would tell each person one thing to get her. Grandma Adrienne I want a play dog...Grandma Poulsen I want a scooter...mom I want a horse. So now she will tell me what everyone is getting her. So she wont be surprised, but I am sure will love everything.
Rod...he is the man. He was been so wonderful to me and my girls and my mom. She is always helping and fixing and doing everything. I love him so much..
So there is our update....

We charged to Prophet....

Last night Mom, Cathy, Patti, Andy, Jeni and I went to the Christmas Concert at the Conference Center. Our seats were right up front to the right of the stage. We were sitting there and President Monson came walking out the door just next to us. So Patti and I both walked to the end of the isle and up jumps the security guard. He yelled at Patti to stop and then stood right in front of us trying to not let us see or get close to our Prophet. It was amazing that place in a matter of seconds was silent and everyone just stood there watching this powerful man and his family. The concert was wonderful..Mom and Cathy enjoyed a little more because the guest Brian Stokes Mitchell...very strongly resembles Johnny Matthis.

Our tree

Notice the darker picture. I think within a foot radius there are 8 decorations.

This Christmas we are living with Grandma Adrienne. We got our tree this year from Home Depot and it is so pretty. Grandma put all the lights on and Kate got to "decorate it all by myself." It was a lot of fun to watch her and her excitement at decorating the tree.

Festival of Trees

Festival of Trees
Yesterday Mom, Patti and Jeni decorated the tree we are dedicating to Rob. I was so sad that I couldn't be there to help with this, but I think they did a beautiful job on the tree. I told Rod that I am going to see it..even if he has to push me in a wheelchair...since needing to be on bed rest. The Festival of Trees runs from Wed-Saturday at the South Towne Expo Center.
Thank you to everyone who helped with donations. We are so proud to do this for Rob and the Primary Childrens Hospital.

Thankful...

I am so very Thankful. I know people love me and my family, but since being on bed rest I have really reflected on how blessed we are.
I am so thankful for:
My husband. He is such a wonderful man. He has just taken over and I know it is stressful for him, but he is just doing it ALL. He is such a good daddy and his girls love him so much.
We have such a wonderful family that are planning their days around taking care of me and my girls. I have wonderful family & friends who check up on my regularly and are always willing to come and help.
I know we should always give thanks to those in our lives we love and are grateful for and not just at Thanksgiving. I hope all those in my life know how much I love them and love having them in my life.
Can you belive Christmas is almost here!!!!

Again...Are you kidding me

I will fulling admit this has not been my year with medical issue, but the years isn't over so why not add another thing.
Good news: Rod and I are expecting a new baby!
Bad news: Friday night I started to bleed and after going to the hospital have found out I have sub chriotonic (sp?) hemorrhage (aka- torn placenta). We were planning on telling anyone we were pregnant until this week, but had to a little early. The bleeding has stopped, but the placenta isn't healed. I was told that I no longer need to be on strict bed rest, but if I can be down that is best. I was told that I can't lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. I was told to not put any pressure on my pelvis because it could tear more and then deplete that oxygen from the baby and the baby could still pass from a miscarriage. I was told the simple things like laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning is not ok...not a bad thing...right...wrong.
It is so stressful for my husband he has been so good to me. Thankfully this weekend is Thanksgiving and he will be home and we can have some rest.
We are also suppose to be packing and out of our house in a couple week...good timing...I know!
I am doing ok. I don't feel sick I just have to make sure and be really careful not to cause anymore harm.

Kate had a dance performance over the weekend at the Christmas Show. She was really cute up there. Her gloves were a little to big for her arms and during the whole dance she kept pulling them up. You have to notice Meggie in the back..she wants to dance and do everything Kate does.

Go Utah

On Friday night we went to the Utah game with Heather and Josh. It was a lot of fun. Heather and I bundled up from head to toe and it ended up not even being that cold. We went up to our seats and ended up sitting right next to my cousin Jackson and Uncle Paul.

Last night Rod and Kate went on a date to the jazz game. A couple of weeks ago Rod bought her this jersey and every Jazz game she would ask if she was going because she already had a jazz shirt. She loves going and she actually got onto the jumbotron...she said because she was doing a funky dance.

Sold

We put our house up for sale and after having it on the MLS for 10 days. We got an offer. We accepted it and are now trying to find a new place for our family to live. We love the Lehi area would like to stay here, but we will see where we land. The sale should close by Dec. 15th, but he is graduating and will start a new job in January and might need a paystub to actually get the loan. They have been pre-approved and are getting a second. We just pray that all will work out and we can find a new home we love.

Halloween Parties

Yesterday was a day full of Halloween Parties. Mom had a Halloween Party everyone (well almost) came in costumes. It was a lot of fun. And Andy has taken over my Uncle Bobby place ...his kids always won the pumpkin cavring contest and now surprise...surprise...Andy's kids always win.

Later that night we rode the Heber Creeker Haunted Train. The girls had a lot of fun...I think. There was a story about a cat lady and then she came on the train. Kate didn't like her because she asked Addison (cousin...dressed as a cat) if she wanted to be one of her cats.

Another Bike Ride

The Poulsen cycling team did another bike ride last weekend.
Denae, Rod sister was wearing a heart monitor and it calculated that during the 30 mile bike she burned just over 2000 calories....that is amazing for just a couple hours of workout.
The bike race ended at this park with the water fountains. Needless to say it didn't take long to be drenched.

First Snow!

This morning we woke up and the ground was covered in snow. I couldn't believe it. I have always thought that the snow was really pretty to look at, but as I get older I don't like it.
I don't like the cold.
I don't like driving in the snow.
I don't like taking on and off coats in the car.
I don't like trying to keep my kids out of it.
I don't like that everything dies.
I don't like that everything is wet....
I don't like that me and all my friends start to hibernate and hardly see each other...
But is was really pretty to see the fresh snow on the lawns with no footprints and it does always look peaceful. And according to my brother AJ we really need the mostiture. So I guess I will just suck it up and deal with...not that I really have a chance. I wanted to get some pictures of my girls in there dresses and the new snow...these are the best I got....

Patti

My sister Patti is amazing. This past weekend my mom and Jeni and Aunt Dee Dee and I went up to BYU-Idaho and listened to her speak at Mothers weekend. She gave a lecture on "Finding strength in the scriptures during turbulent times" She is such a natural up there in front of all those people talking. I wouldn't/couldn't do it. I just want her to know how much I love her and admire her strength through this time in her life. For those of you that might not know of her strength read Caringbridge . My brother Rob and Patti!
