Blessings

Today in Patti's institute class we talked about Nephi and his family traveling through the wilderness. She pointed out the differences in Nephis' and his brothers Laman and Lemuels' description of their time in the wilderness. (1Nephi 17: 2 & 20). They both traveled the same roads and had the same surrounding yet how different their perspective were. I needed that today (thank you Patti). Lately life has seemed to be trying me. I am have been so blessed in my life and I feel like lately I haven't looked at all the blessings. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband who loves me. I have three beautiful children who are healthy and happy (for the most part). I have a beautiful home and wonderful friends who surround us. I have a wonderful family who I truly love and know they love me. I am so blessed and I have been selfish in not looking at all of my blessing lately.

Really for a dime....

Today after dropping Kate at dance I decided to go to the store. I had Hank and Meggie with me and during the shopping trip Meg found a dime in my purse. After shopping I was putting Hank into the car and Meg dropped her dime on the ground. She was trying to reach for it from the cart and saying "my money, my money". I told her let me put Hank in the car seat and I will get it for you. I turned around and was going to get her money and notice a lady reaching down to pick up the dime. I thought oh that is nice of her to get that...then she puts it in her pocket and walks away.... Meg just looked at her and I was shocked. I didn't know what to say. Then we got in the car and Meg started crying saying "my money, mommy, my money."
I guess this recession is really hitting people hard???

Birthday continues...

Kate also started pre-school yesterday. Here is a typical picture taking moment. If one is looking the other isn't and then they switch.

Today Kate had her 4 little best friends over for a birthday horse party. We had a horse pinata and ice-cream cones (Kate's doesn't like cake). And then the big surprise. Aj (my brother) brought his 2 year old horse Ruby. The girls were so excited. Lots and lots of screams.

Happy birthday Kate

Happy Birthday yesterday!

I should have posted this yesterday..but all of the sudden it was over.
I can't believe my baby is 5 years old. I know everyone says it but the years go way to fast. She is such a joy in my life. Kate loves life and loves the people around her in it.
Kate loves food and not your typical 5 year old food. She loves loves loves pickles (and 4 at a time please). She loves avocados, artichokes, shrimp, tomatoes sliced with salt. She also loves chips, snack and candy. But she is picky about the kind of candy. Don't get her something she doesn't like because she wont eat it...unlike Meg she will. She loves school. All summer long she would ask when is school going to start. She loves meeting new friends and playing with any kids..no matter their age. She is very smart and picks up and remembers things. She will remember things about certain days and it is kind of freaky all the things she remembers. She has been such a good helper these past few months with Hank and Meg. She loves to hold Hank and even if he is screaming she just remains calm and unbothered by the crying. She loves to sit in front of Hank and say " who's so cute...." over and over and over...and he just smiles at her.
She loves to be outside either riding her bike, riding her scooter, playing with friends, swimming. She is such a little social butterfly. She loves to visit our neighbors. If any of the neighbors are out she wants to go visit. And can sit and talk with them forever...I love having this girl in our house. She is so full of love and caring for others. I love you KATE!!!! I hope you had a wonderful birthday.

Hardwork

Rod has been working so hard over the last few months to get our yard and house looking nice.
Here is the proof. Rod, Nick and Denae made these shutters for our windows. I love them!!! Our yard was a little bit of a mess, but Rod has got our sprinklers fixed. He covered with sod the massive flowers bed that ran along the side of our yard. It looks so nice and makes our front yard look so much bigger. It also makes the green city boxes look bigger, but oh well...

What their up too...

Life seems to be getting back to normal...but then it will all change.
Hank is starting to mellow out and becoming such fun baby. He has started to smile and coo. Kate loves to sit and talk to him and about how cute he is and how much she loves him and he just smiles at her. He is really starting to grow..he is getting so long. He is starting to get a really good double chin. He is so fun to have in our house and the girls just love him.
The other night I ran some errands and these are the faces I returned to.
Kate is starting dance today and school next week. She starts pre-school on her birthday. I can't believe she is going to be five years old. Were did all the years go by. We have done so many fun things over the last five years, but they have gone way to fast.
She loves so many things, but i will post later on her birthday.
