I know I haven't posted in a while.

Here are my thoughts and what has been happening lately.

With baby #4 on the way I am starting to feel mostly better.

I still have my days, but most are good.

I feel like I look pregnant.

I think I started to show pretty early, but I think at 17 weeks...I don't look to big.

The week before Christmas I started potty training Hank.

I hate potty training.

I didn't want to write anything about it...to possibly jinks myself.

He has done really well.

I would just remind him and now I think most of the time he realizes when he needs to go.

BUT today...He was down for a nap...didn't take one.

He will lay by his door and yell out for me.

He finally started saying he needed to go potty.

He has tried this one before and just used it as a way to get out of his room.

I wasn't falling for it.

After a little while I decided to go in.

The room stunk and then I realized he didn't have any underwear on.

(sorry if this grosses you out...it did me too)

He had pooped and taken off his diaper.

Well I lost it.

I was so mad, he was so upset and all were not good.

After Clorox wipes and Lysol spray...

I realized I really blew it.

Like I said I HATE potty training...it makes me so mad.

But that is not an excuse.

I felt so bad for the way I react and that is exactly what I did was REACT.

After saying a prayer and telling Hank I am so sorry for mommy getting mad.

I don't think he really cared.

But I think about how i reacted. I pray for patience and to be a good mom.

But man I sometimes really fail when I am faced with having it.

This afternoon Kate and Hank were chasing each other around the kitchen/family room.

Apparently Hank had a little pipe in his mouth

and fell.

Poor guy.

It is so swollen and you can tell his is in pain.

He is having a really hard time swallowing

and wont eat anything.

My sister Patti says he should become a bubble boy

he would just pop it

December seems to have just flown by.

We did a lot of fun things

I love Christmas time

but I am glad it is over

my house is clean

toys are put away

but I am not looking forward to Kate going back to school tomorrow

i don't like the crazy schedule of school, preschool and dance

Thanksgiving this year was spent in Hawaii.

I really think it should become a new tradition.

Rod's parents were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

And wanted us all to come along.

We had a wonderful time.

Hank stitches

This morning Hank tried to be superman.

He cut his chin right open.

After washing out the cut, the dr. noticed it was a lot deeper.

He got three internal stitches and 6-7 stitches.

poor little guy.

but I do have to say as active as this kid is, I am surprised this in only his second set of stitches.

Halloween

My mom had her annual Halloween Party.

The costumes were definitely stepped up this year.

We also had a Halloween Party at Grandma and Grandpa Poulsen's.

The girls donuts fell on the ground...they had to finish without hands.

To say that Hanks sleeping has been a little out of control is about right.

He usually ends up sleeping on the floor by his door.

We decided maybe taking off the front rail will help.

He has been climbing over it for about a year.

He was so excited.

Some days have been good others not so much.

But we are trying to figure it out.

I know my friend is laughing right now because my girls were the best little sleepers.

And I deserve to have a stinker.

Circus and flowers

My dad gave us some free tickets to the picadilly circus.

We decided to go and had a great time.

There were motorcycle riders, kangaroos, tigers, dancers, flying acrobats and even dancing elephants.

Rod didn't think it was very fun, but I enjoyed it.

And our kids LOVED it.

We went with Andy and Jeni and Grandma.

I think Hank loved it the most.

He didn't move.

Except to dance every time there was music.

He was so funny to watch.

Over Labor Day we went to St. George.

When we came home the first thing I noticed my flowers were gone.

I noticed my plants were covered in caterpillars.

The caterpillars slimmed my plants and killed all my flowers.

My smart neighbor mentioned spraying them and they might come back.

Look...

Two weeks later they started blooming one at a time.

I was so excited when I had six blooms.

Now look...

I love that on Oct. 18.

I still have amazing flowers.

I wish this weather would stay.

Fall Colors

We took the four wheelers for a little evening ride and picnic dinner.

The kids had such a fun time.

At the end of the ride, you could feel the cool fall in the air.

The other day after dinner, Hank got down and came back in the kitchen with some toilet paper. He said to Rod "I cleaning up Daddy" Rod noticed he had some toilet paper and then looked down the hall.

We did it.

Even though at times I would have been fine to QUIT!

We didn't.

Five of us.

The rain was hideous...and I mean hideous.

The day started out with light sprinkles for about half hour and then sun.

I felt maybe we would be blessed with nice weather.

Well apparently this storm needed to follow us across the state of Utah.

The pictures to follow don't show the awful weather because you couldn't get out and get a picture in the rain.

This guy hiked on my back sometime during the rain and didn't say a word.

Until I found him after a couple miles.

We could never have done this ride without our amazing family.

I am not sure if I can say the ride was fun.

I don't remember every being so cold, wet and tired.

But it was a great experience.

If you have been around Kate in the past few weeks you knew her birthday was coming up.

I think she started counting and telling people about 3 weeks out.

She is such a funny girl.

Her new "Big girl" bike.

She has had the same princess bike since she was 3.

She loves being with her little girlfriends.

We decorated pillowcases.

It was so funny to listen to the girls while decorating.

I think the most common thing said was "yours is cuter then mine"

A couple things about you right now.

You are loving being in the first grade.

You have been such a great helper to your teacher.

You love to play with all and any friends.

You are becoming such a great dancer.

You are starting to become aware and a little nervous about what other people think about you.

You love pickles more than other snack, food or treat.

You don't just like any candy...you don't settle for anything but your favorite.

You love anything flavored chocolate...ice cream, cupcakes, milk, candy bar, but don't put carmel in it.

You are such a joy in my life and can't believe how fast you are growing.

Little Mermaid

The girls and I were able to see the little Mermaid at Tuachan this past weekend.

It was such a wonderful girls date night.

Meggie was so tired after the show was over, but as soon as she saw she could meet Ariel she perked up really quick.

Hank I just dropped Meg off at her first day of preschool.

The house seems really quiet and empty.

She was so excited.

And looks too old.

She didn't want me to come in with her to the classroom.

She said "You already got a picture"

First Day of First Grade

Today was Kate's first day of 1st grade.

Last night she was a little nervous.

She told one of the moms at the school while waiting to meet her teacher that she might cry.

She didn't.

She was so excited and up at 7 this morning asking what she needed to do.

I told her she can go back to bed.

It was so bright outside.

So I told the kids to close there eyes and on three open...hank apparently didn't understand.

Aryann and Kate have been in the same class for 2 years of preschool and Kindergarten.

But not this year.

She had to of her best little friends in her class.

Clara. Kate. Emily.

Looks like Kate will be one of the tallest in her class again.

She was so chatty and happy when she came home from school.

She loves her class, her teacher, lunch, recess and everything about school.

Summertime

Summertime...

I am so sad you are almost over.

The girls are getting excited for school to start.

Kate isn't sure about going all day, but really excited for three recesses.

I am not so sure about my baby girl being gone all day.

I have loved the lazy days of summer and sad they are almost gone.

My kids are growing way too fast.

You have giving us so many wonderful days.

We have been to the rodeo...and sold out of all the BBQ we were serving.

Attended many parades...all of them daddy complained about going too.

We have been to the cabin two times in 3 weeks.

Played in the water, caught tadpoles, made hula hoops, and rode horses.

We have been boating on Grandpas boat with our cousins.

Hank and the girls wants to only be outside.

He loves to say something and then end in "Right, mom" or "I did it"

He has loved teasing Dale with "Go Utes"

Tonight while riding bikes outside I told Meg "She was a good bike rider" and her reply "I am going to be a grandma when I grow up"

Daddy and Nick got most of the swing set put together last night and the kids have loved playing on the slide.

I have been a loved sleeping in most days and have become very lazy with working out, but am now getting my rear in gear.

Rod and I are training right now for the Salt to Saint bike ride.

Please keep the morning bright and warm a little longer.

My garden has/is being very plentiful.

I have canned 29 quarts of pickles. All picked from my garden.

And right as I write we are expecting Denae and Nicks baby at minute.

There is nothing better then new babies and I can't wait to hold him.

The Happenings....

I don't want to be one of those people that is only grateful when things are good. I really do try to be grateful of all of my blessing, but today I am really grateful for my health. Two weeks ago I got really sick for a week. I felt crappy for the whole week, but luckily only three of the days were really bad. I am so grateful to wonderful neighbors that let my children come and play outside...even without their hair done:) I am grateful for a little two year old that was content to play by himself or would just lay with me in bed and watch shows. I know Rod is grateful too and that I have stopped crying because I am no longer in so much pain. I am so grateful for my health and to be able to get up and take care of my family and home.

Last week, after starting to feel better I was able tag along with Rod to Las Vegas. He had to be down there for work, but we were able to spend a couple days before laying at the pool, shopping and eating lots of yummy food. I came home and he stayed for 3 more days. It was a fun quick getaway.

Rods Ribs is up and smoking for the summer. Rod cooked yesterday for a couple parties and of course everyone LOVED it. I am putting in a little plug for him...If you have any parties you would like him to cook for, he is your guy.

We had a wonderful 24th. Although it rained all during fireworks. We are really happy that Utah now allows aerials...they are so cool. But very EXPENSIVE!!! But really cool.

Anyway...that's what going on here.

Happy {Fourth}

Happy 4th.

This year was a bit different for us.

Meg tested positive for Strep the day before. So we had to miss the parade.

She was on meds at 1 pm for 24 hours and could join back into the celebrations.

Rod took Hank and Kate to the parade.

Kate was put in charge of pictures.

Should took over 200 random pictures of the parade and people.

Among those she did get a couple good shots.

We had a BBQ at our house with Jimmy & Linzi, AJ and Grandma.

And hosted cul-d-sac of fire (you have to sing to the stadium of fire tune).

Although she did become a lot more brave as the evening went on.

I can't believe my baby is two years old.

(I think I have said that on everyone of my kids birthdays)

Hank is at such a fun stage.

He loves to play anything with a ball, bat or truck.

He loves treats....especially cheese balls.

Answers every question with YEAH!!!

This little guy has a funny thing about names...he doesn't forget them.

He has a huge fascination with shoes and whether people are wearing them or not.

I will repeat the same sentence over and over and over and over until you repeat it back..then moves to the next sentence. Funny kid.

He says mommy or daddy shue (for hold you).

Loves to play shooping balls (a basketball shooting game) on the ipod.

Refers to himself as Hankie.

Loves to wave with is hand straight out as he says bye. He also says bye in a really low voice.

He is growing way to fast, but such a joy to be with....most of the time.

He was so excited when he saw his basketball hoop.

He even made his very first shot.

Turned around and yelled "I did it"

We had a fun party with cousins and grandmas and grandpas.

Yesterday I was able to ride in the Little Red.

I rode for 80 miles...4 hours and 43 minutes.

After lunch at miles 57 I started to get a side/stomach cramp. I couldn't get it to go away and started thinking something is wrong...I am have an appendicitis. (I know that is a big jump from a cramp) SO for the last 20 miles I had the hardest time getting a breath or getting it to go away, but after the ride I was able to lie down for about 5 minutes and it went a way thank goodness. I think the sandwich just didn't sit well.

Other then that everything went great. It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done physically with my body, but I am amazed at what our bodies can do.

Kate graduated from Kindergarten.

She keeps telling me she wished she was still in school because she missed Mrs. Wright so much already.

She was such a wonderful teacher.

I can't believe next year she will be gone all day.

I love this little girl and can't believe how she is growing.

She decided she wanted her haircut right before school.

We cut about 4 inches off.

Le Miserables

For mother's day Rod gave me and my mom tickets to Les Miserables.

It was such a wonderful fun night.

We went to the SLC cemetery. It is so beautiful. Ate at Olive Garden. Yummy.

My mom wasn't happy that I made her get a picture.

She says she never looks good.

I also did the end table, but it was back before I got and after picture.

I am just being lazy and don't want to move it.

Rod and I got this table with our couches 10 years ago when we got married.

Its been a week...

It has been one of those weeks. The past couple of months Hank has been climbing out of his bed. But if he gets out and you try to take away his ni-ni (blanket) he will usually lay right back down.

Until this week.

Monday he climbed out during nap time and then the fight began.

I ended up putting a plastic doorknob lock on his door. Because he would not stay in there. Last night was the first night this week he stayed in his bed and fell asleep. The other days he would try to open the door and then just end up falling asleep on the floor by the door.

I know sad...but he needs a nap and to go to bed at night.

Meg has started talking back and decided she doesn't need to listen. I bought a new bike trailer and was putting it together. I told the girl to not touch the stuff because I didn't know if I was keeping the trailer. Next thing I know Meg is burying the trailer flag in the mud...REALLY! I know I need to remember she is four, but.... Then the next night Rod and Kate were on a date. Meg and Hank and I were outside. I said lets go get in the shower.

Meg says...NO! You cant tell me what to do!

And Kate has decided to use the "I forgot" or "I didn't hear you" For everything she doesn't want to do.

I really have good kids and I love them dearly, but this week....

I threatened I was going to runaway and Meg didn't like that I idea.

On a good note.

Last night I ran into Kate's teacher and she said I wish parents could come and watch recess.

She said that Kate had two of the boys in her class dancing ballet.

The boys were dancing for her and acting like it was totally normal.

Jeni and I did the Women of Steel Triathlon this past weekend.

At some points people were walking, floating and trying to pass. It was crazy.

It was so nice to see family cheering you on. Just after this picture I started the hill climb and it was a beast. But I made it!

Camping for the night

This past weekend we went camping in Alberta.

We had a wonderful time among the dirt, dirt and more dirt.

Surprise, surprise five minutes into the trip Hank takes a dive in the dirt.

I think Meg sat in the dirt and played there the entire time..except for a few four wheeler rides.

Kate rode four wheelers, ran up and down the mountains. Found lots of animal dens and bones and rocks.

We had a wonderful campfire with smores and lots of laughs. We have such a wonderful time when we get together with the Mitchells (cousins).

Hawaii in the rain

Rod and I went to Hawaii for our 10 year anniversary.

We were expecting to sit on the beach and sunbathe.

But the weather was planning something different.

It rained everyday. Most days it would come and go but the last two it never stopped.

We planned a fun 4 hours tree-top zipline tour we got all geared up.

and then the rain started again......

Our guides asked if we all wanted to continue. We all did.

We were soaked but still enjoyed our time swinging like monkeys in the trees.

There were 10 people in our group and had a wonderful time with them.

The course included 7 zips and 4 bridges.

All at 85-100 feet above the ground.

I would definately recommend zipping.

There were roosters and chicken everywhere.

When I say everywhere I really mean EVERYWHERE!

We found this really cool cave.

Waterfalls. We were just getting out of the car and the rain started so we waited a minute.

Snap. Rain starts. Run back to car.

Everyone I have talked to love Kuaui, but because of the rain we aren't sure if we will return.

Maybe someday we will give it a try again.

Although I talked a lot about the rain. We still had a wonderful time.

Thanks Sarah and Jimmy and Linzi...so nice to know our kids were taken care of.

I love you honey. Thanks for a wonderful week. Even with the rain. I love being with you.

We have been enjoying the spring weather. love the sound of the children laughing and screaming outside. Feeling of sun on my face.

Gayle and Dale let the kids come play in the dirt. I think my girls were over there for about 6 hours one afternoon. even included a picnic.

Kate so proud of her worm. Hank hitting the baseball...making daddy very proud.

Everyday I wake up and think this kid has grown more. I can't believe how old he is getting. A couple of the things he loves/does. He refers to himself as hankie.

He loves to walk behind the girls in the house and repeat everything they say.

He is constantly throwing things in the air...usually a ball. But today picked up a dirty diaper, waiting to go outside, and yelled diaper and throws it in the air. That is all I need...diaper explosion.

He loves shoes...any and all...usually moms. They are easy to walk in then dads.

He loves firetrucks. He still loves the Jazz even after the season they gave us.

Maylee (and her parents) came to visit. He wanted his buzz costume and then found a few of his own accesories.

When did this happen. I know I have been apart of all of it. But how are my kids growing so fast. I know the one of hank is a little dark, but loved that face.

The girls were in the shower the other day and this is what Meggie said to Kate.

"Kate you need to wash your body and your parts. If you don't wash your body Heavenly Father will be so mad at you."

Scrapbook help

I currently have Photoshop Elements 5.0. I got a new laptop and it is no longer compatible with my Windows. I use it to digital scrapbook. I know how to use it and not sure if I should buy it again or try a new product. I have a friend that uses Creative Memories and loves it. Does anyone have any advice...please I am so far behind and need to start digital scrapping again.

I felt really crafty today and made these for my girls.

Heard yesterday in the car. I was picking up Kates little friends for school and all the girls climbed in the back.

This past week we went to Disney World

We enjoyed the sunshine

lots and lots of food

even more hand sanitizer

and lots of rides and princesses

we spent a lot of time on this play land while kate and daddy went on the bigger rides

breakfast with pooh, eeyore, tiger and piglet

It was a dinner with a singing and dancing performance.

My kids loved it, but I think Hank did the most. He was so fun to watch clapping and yelling.

Rod did say he was a little nervous the Hank might have liked it to much.

Beautiful Day

Today was a beautiful day.

I know that might sound strange since it rained all day, but it was.

It all started yesterday when I was able to attend the temple with my family, the people I love most in my life.

And today I was able to go to church with my husband and three beautiful children.

Most Sundays are not a fun time, but today they were really good.

I thank my Heavenly Father for blessing them with reverence today.

Three years ago today my brother Rob passed away of Melanoma Cancer.

I miss him so much.

This past week my heart has ached many times for him.

I miss his phone calls as he travels in his car for work.

I miss is love and laughter.

I miss him having to be right about EVERYTHING!!!!

I miss him every time I see Patti and his 5 beautiful children.

I wish my children could know him like I did.

But I know some day they will.

I wish all of the people I know could have known him, you would have loved him and he you.

Tonight we went to the cemetery.

Some of us cried and some laughed and some of us hugged and some of us tried to scare others in the dark.

As we were walking home from the cemetery my sweet ms. kate says "It is sure funner in Disneyland then here"

I love my family so much and am so grateful for them in my life. I am truly BLESSED!

All in all it was a beautiful day I was surrounded my friends and family.

The other night I met out with some of my best friends.

We all met in elementary and used to call ourselves the Fab Five.

It may be a year or two in between visits, but we always have a wonderful time when we get together.

I love laughing at all of our silly things we used to do.

Singing, dancing and sleep-overs.

We were all so boy crazy and at times even liked the same boys.

I now think of my girls growing up and hope that they have best friends like I was blessed with.The above picture was taken on the last day of 9th grade.

Wednesday night Ms. Kate got her ear pierced.

she was so excited.

she couldn't understand why no one was asking her about her ears while walking in the mall.

i told her no one really knows you got your ears pierced.

she replied...well I have this sticker that says "I just got my ears pierced"

we had always say she had to wait until 12, but she has been so obsessed with having stickers on her ears. we asked why are we waiting and really had no reason. it was just what i did when i was little, but really had no reason.

So we changed our rules.

Meg had quiet the birthday celebration.

with the poulsens we went bowling.

my kids love bowling.

even though it takes everything they have to pick up and throw the ball down.

they still have so much fun.

Meggie didn't want to have a birthday party.

she wanted to go swimming with "only my friend (cousin) Morgan and then get ice cream"

The water was freezing.

but the girls had a lot of fun.

These two girls are the best little buddies.

they are only about 3 1/2 weeks apart.

Then Sunday night we went to Grandma Adriennes for a BIG family party.

Meg even said "I don't want all these people here"

(the party included lots of my cousins and aunts and uncles)

then up to Grandma and Grandpa Poulsens for birthday cake!!!!

Baby hurt again...

Snowmobiling

Rod and my brothers and two nephews went up to the cabin for a boys overnight

you have to snowmobile everything in

no running water

and lots of cold cold snow

but i think they had a wonderful time

the mitchell boys came up on saturday to snowmobile

with the exception of aj(had to keep digging himself out) and epp (burnt of something on his sled)

everyone had a lot of fun

a tree had broken off and pierce right through the top of the porch

The next weekend rod and kate and paul and camden went snowmobiling again in heber

they had a great time

Efficency failed....

We got our City bill this month and we failed.

They gave a cost analysis of 100 homes around ours and we were not so good.

We got a 2 of five stars.

We weren't efficient and not only that but were above average.

We are spending a lot more per year then those that are efficient and would like to have that money to spend on other things.

I have tried really hard this week to keep lights off when not needing them.

And trying to make my kids aware of leaving things on and seems to be working.

But I think I need more help.

So to those of you that are efficient or even just average what are you secrets?

For the couple of you that may have tried to call my house in the past five days...our phone is not working. I have heard of people leaving messages but they are somewhere in space. Sorry we switched carriers and the transition isn't going very smoothly...so I am not ignoring you.

Today Meg came up to me and we had the following conversation.

Meg: you turn your head this way (tilts my head to the side). Then I turn mine this way. (tilts her head the opposite way).

And gives me a kiss.

Me: Where did you learn to do that.

Meg: At preschool

Me: Who taught you to do that

Meg: Me, I just do it and don't kiss nobody.

Me: Do you kiss a boy at school?

Meg: I just kiss one boy, Jake.

Me: You are to little to kiss boys. No more kissing at school.

Meg: My teacher makes me.

Me: No your teacher doesn't make you. You are only three and too young to be kissing boys except daddy, grandpa, uncles and brothers.

Meg: No, I have grown really tall.

I thought I was young when I had my first kiss, but I wasn't 3.

And sorry to Jake's parents. I have tried to tell her no more kissing. I hope she listens.

A couple weekends ago we flew out to OK to visit Nick and Denae (Rod's sister).

The next day we drove down to Dallas for the Big 12 Championship Game.

We had a wonderful time and ate a lot of yummy food

It was really cool to see all the stuff that you never really see

Today is friday and here are a few of things happening or just on my mind.

Hanks binki some how got broken today. The girls both broke at 18 months and Hank is now 19 months so it is way over due. I always panic when this time comes because I am possibly causing a big problem with sleeping. And Hank really really really likes his binki. He only gets it at naps and in the car and at church to keep him queit. And he really likes those times.

I weighed myself this morning before working out and had lost a pound, but that was after a 4 pound gain from Thanksgiving and a weekend trip. I was exactly at the point I wanted to be a few months ago, but before I went on my trip I was 3 pounds lighter and now that first number isn't good enough. I know this is so dumb, but just my thoughts today. I am really happy with my weight lost, but why do we always want more.

I love Christmas. I love the smell of my tree...yes I have a REAL one. I love the lights on the tree when it is dark. I love having my house decorated. I love the goodies, treats and food at this time of year. I love being with my family and friends. And most of all I love the Nutcracker by Ballet West. Steve got our tickets today and this makes me so happy.

But most of all I am so grateful to Mary and Joseph for saying they would follow the Lords plan.

I am so grateful for the birth of my Saviour and for the life he lived.

Festival of Trees

We decorated another tree this year in honor of Rob's life. I have loved all of our past trees but this one was so beautiful.

We love and miss you Rob!!!

All decorations, except a few balls, were purchased from Sprinkler World. You should really check them out...who know they had great Christmas decorations...and were wonderful to work with.

Today while driving in the car this was Kate and my conversation:

Kate: Can you believe Lauren (babysitter from last night) doesn't have a costume yet. And she has a party tonight. I told her that she should just dress in her cutest clothes and curl her hair real cute and be a fashion girl. Or she could just put on one of her church dresses and a crown and be a princess. See that's not to hard and really easy.

I love that girl.

Meg: I didn't stick my bum in the toilet water. Are you proud of me?

Me: Yes, Meg I am so proud.

I feel like I haven't updated for awhile. Not that we haven't been doing fun thing...just being lazy and not sitting down and writing.

Kate:

She is loving school. She still loves being in charge and has to be reminded many times a day "I am the mom". She is so sweet and loves any and all attention to be giving to her. She also doesn't like to be alone. I helped in her Kindergarten class yesterday and was glad that she will still give hugs and kisses in front of friends. She has really grown and is just starting to seem too old.

Yesterday, she walked in the door and I was dressed in my church clothes to go to the temple. She says "Whoa you look sexy!" I dropped my jaw and didn't know what to say. I said then proceed to tell her she really shouldn't use that word...better words like pretty, nice, cute. Then asked where she learned that word. Muppet's Wizard of Oz. I guess the Muppet's aren't as clean as the original Oz.

Meg:

She started speech therapy this week. (AJ isn't very happy about this) She was so excited to go to school and got her own folder and the teacher told her she would have homework and she gave me the biggest smile. She is starting to be come really stubborn. What she wants she wants.... But can also be the sweetest little thing in the world. She kind of lives in her own world and can play quietly by herself for hours. If you ask her to do something she will most likely get distracted with something along the way, but she is so fun to be around. She is loving dance and looks so cute in her tutu and leotard.

Hank:

He is getting so big and so fun to be around. He will try to mimic every name or sound people make, but still will only call Rod, mommy. We are both mommy to him. He loves Grandmas and Grandpa and will call most people AJ. He still loves cows and horses. Our neighbor gave Hank and little cow to pull around on a string. He just laughs it is so funny. He took his first motorcycle ride this past weekend in St. George. He was fine with one time around the block and second, but by the third he wanted off...NOW!!!! He loves to be chased and will most likely run into a wall, but still loves to play. He likes to fake laugh and would love to be outside all the time. Unless I am trying to fix dinner he is so fun!

How can it be possible that I have this many flies in my home. I have spent all morning long killing them. I actually got excited when I killed my last few, but were do they keep coming from. I don't have any doors or windows open. They are playing tag team as soon as I kill one another tags in.....

Today Rod and I celebrated our 9th anniversary

we had a wonderful weekend in Las Vegas

we spent time laying out at the pool and

laughing at ourselves because we could sit and just watch all the interesting people in the world

for hours

also I will admit that I wasn't excited to go and see garth brooks

but

it was AMAZING

he is so talented and nothing like his old live performances

it was just garth and a guitar and an appearance of trisha yearwood

thanks rod for an amazing nine years

Where's Hank

So today I had one of the worst nightmares happen to me and at church none the less. After sacrament was over I started walk toward the back and needed a paper signed. I put down Hank right next to Rod and Meg and got my signature. Then Rod asks "where is Hank" He was just right here. He was gone. I frantically ran to the front of the chapel and started searching. By this time I can't keep the tears from my eyes and the worst thoughts coming to my mind. Friends started looking for my little Hank. We started opening doors and practically running through the church. My friend Kristy saw a police officer standing outside of the bishops offices and started down that way. Then she heard him screaming and pounding the door. He had gone into one of offices next to the bishops and closed the door. He was probably only in there for 5-10 minutes but it sure felt like and eternity. I could tell that he was scared, but a flood of gratitude washed over me. My sweet boy was ok. He had not been taken, but was just a speedy little kid looking around. I hope I never have this feeling again. Although I know I probably will, but for now he is home and in his crib and safe.

I told him it is the only way I can figure out how to get a work out in the day

and then told me

"I wouldn't do it"

So I feel like I have won the week!

St. George and new addition to family

This past weekend we went to St. George

We had so much fun sitting and reading and sitting some more

The kids swam almost all day and loved every minute of it

So, today after finally getting a minute to sit down just after folding laundry. I keep thinking I'm going to miss this...not the laundry, running crazy in the car, baby refusing to eat, or big girl refusing to try on the shoes or always feeling in a rush... but I keep thinking of how my kids are growing up way to fast and I am truly going to miss this...Kate turned 6 today and I can't believe how the times have flown by...I will post all about Kate tonight.

Now, back to putting laundry away!

For Mothers Day Rod gave me tickets to the Lion King.

So last night we got a babysitter and went out for a great date night.

WE had a wonderful dinner and then went to the play.

We had both seen it before we were married but I still love, love, loved it.

Rod asked me what my favorite part was....I loved the costumes and music and creative mind behind the way they made everything move.

I loved it!

On Sunday morning Hank woke up around 5:30 and cried for a little while and then fell back to sleep. Then a little around 6:30 he woke up crying again, but the cry was different. It sounded more like a hurt cry. I went to his room and got him out of bed and tried rocking him, he couldn't be consoled. I went into the front room but continued crying really hard but was also grunting like he was having a hard time breathing. After not being able to calm him down and still breathing really hard I called my mom. Hank needed to be seen. I ended up at an Insta Care. I was asked all the questions of what is going on...no he hasn't had a fever, no coughing, no runny nose, and it just started this morning. They did and x-ray and thought that they could see he had broncillitis. They did a breathing treatment and gave an oral steroid. Said it should be better in a couple hours. After taking Hank home and he took a 4 hour nap he was still doing a grunt on his exhale breaths. I called the pediatricians office that was now open. They said to just bring him down and get him checked. The dr listened to his breathing, listened to his lungs and thought that he believed he had inhaled something. And sent me to the hospital for more x-rays. This time they x-rayed him on his side which is suppose to collapse the lung. It would show if something was in the lung. After about 1 1/2 hours they called me and told me " I needed to go up to Primary Children's hospital and they would take a look at the x-rays and then determine if he needed surgery." What...this is my baby. This was not how this Sunday was suppose to happen. So with tears in my eyes and trying to be strong. We called our friends and asked for help with a blessing. My mom came over and we headed up to the hospital. We arrived around 8:00. Everyone came and listened...this dr and nurse and then more dr's and nurses. The radiologist looked at the x-ray couldn't see what was in the lung but could see that the lung wasn't collapsing the way it should in the x-ray. They surgeon came and we disgust what had been happening today and they listened some more to his lungs. We were told that they were going to do the surgery (bronchoscopy). And the surgery should happen between 10-12. A newborn came in and then a 15 year old gun shot wound victim bumped us back. A little after 3am we were told it was our turn. We headed up to the operating room. My sweet little baby clinging to me and probably wondering what is happening to me. They took him and of course he went hysterical, but I knew they would take care of him. After about 30 were told that everything was over and no foreign objects were found in the lungs....what! I was really relieve that everything was ok, but what was wrong with my baby. After a couple hours struggling to get him to sleep he woke up a different kid. He wanted to play and drink and was talking. We ended up leaving the hospital around 9:30. We got home and you would never have known what we had just gone through if you looked at Hank.

I am not sure what is was or why we had to go through this scary time. A lot of drs looked at the x-rays and could see the air pocket in his lung, but there was nothing there.

So, I am going to call it a blessing or miracle. Thanks to the healing hands of a Heavenly Father who loves me and my little family.

I also have to thank all of those that helped and prayed for my family. It was so comforting to know I didn't need to worry about my girls while I was gone.

Also this happened in the same week Rod had shoulder surgery. He had his rotator cuff and laburnum repaired. He is doing better. He has a hard time finding the right position to not cause pain, but is doing good.

I love my Heavenly Father and am so grateful my sweet little Hank is ok.

Kate: No, I want some tomatoes

Meg: I want some tomatoes.

My kids seriously love tomatoes. I am not complaining, but I think it is funny. This is also not to say they don't eat more candy then they probably should..but just funny!
